OUR TRAINING PHILOSOPHY

Positive, Reward-Based Training Only

Reward-Based Methods

We focus on rewarding the behaviours we want to see more of — using treats, praise, play and real-life rewards — rather than punishing mistakes.

Building Trust & Confidence

Our goal is to build trust between you and your dog. That means working at your dog’s pace and avoiding harsh tools or techniques.

You Are Part of the Process

Training isn’t just about the dog — it’s about giving you simple, repeatable routines you can maintain at home so results last.

We’ll never ask you to do anything that feels uncomfortable or unsafe for you or your dog.

Training FAQs

We use positive, reward-based methods — focusing on rewarding good behaviour and managing the environment, not punishing mistakes.

It depends on your goals and your dog’s temperament. Some issues improve in a few sessions; others need a longer plan. We’ll suggest a realistic number after the first consultation.

No ethical trainer can guarantee exact results, because every dog and home is different. But we can guarantee honest feedback, clear exercises and support — if you practice consistently, you’ll see progress.

Yes, in most cases we want you involved so you can learn how to handle your dog and continue the training at home.

We may be able to help with mild–moderate behaviour issues. For severe aggression or history of serious bites, we may refer you to a specialist behaviourist. Please be honest when filling in the enquiry form.

In some cases, yes — training mini-sessions can be added around grooming or day care visits. Mention this in your form and we’ll see what’s possible.

Usually just a normal collar or harness, a standard leash (not retractable) and good treats. If we recommend anything else, we’ll explain why.
